The easiest thing is to come play with us! Show up as a player or pitch a volunteer one-shot in our Discord “Game Master Round Table” channel. We’ll put you on the store calendar, advertise your game, and some of our staff might even attend, schedule permitting. We love saying yes to less-common systems, but are always happy to see D&D 5e, Call of Cthulhu, and other well-known games.

Our contract GMs are creative professionals who partner with us to provide high-end experiences to our community of customers.
Invited candidates for the job are invited to an “audition one-shot”: we pay candidates for their labor and choose a list of players with ranging experience levels. After the audition, assuming the fit is good, we may immediately work to put that Paid GM into an ongoing subscription campaign, or simply start by scheduling them for some Premium One-Shots.Important: this shouldn’t be anyone’s side gig income that they depend on. Games start and stop, cancelations happen. Do this for the joy of it, or for some fun side money, but please don’t depend on us.

You are a part-time contractor for us, usually working 4 hours per week. We recommend you take a week off every 2-3 months. When the happens we can provide substitutes for a one-shot or just credit your players for a missed week.
While it isn’t for everyone, professional subscription TTRPG play is very popular among our customer base. Everyone really wants to be there, and players rarely miss a session - this clearly leads to GM job satisfaction.Another benefit of working in this setting: all subscriber management is handled by the shop. We recruit for you, we schedule play, we manage player additions and departures, and we handle conflict and concerns. We also budget to provide supplies and materials.
You focus on creating amazing play, we handle the rest.
Pay is currently set at $65/session for both subscription and Premium One-shots.

Amazing. Welcome! Hit up the Discord, come to a one-shot as a player, and keep an eye out for GM Bootcamps and other new Game Master events that the shop runs
Also mark your calendar for the end of June, Free RPG Day is an amazing opportunity to try on the role.

We will always give preference to building a wider community. If there’s room at your table, we’d love you to run a one-shot with your existing group and allow others to join you! We are happy to put names of your friends down as the first few on the registration list.
We are also happy to rent private space to existing TTRPG groups for special occasions. In this case we wouldn’t be putting you on the public calendar, of course! -
Unfortunately this doesn’t fit our current model.
What you are describing is a “home game”. We LOVE HOME GAMES! They are the heart and soul of the hobby. When a home game is really working they can last for years and become deeply fulfilling.
The problem is, we are genuinely just too busy and too small a place to offer a dedicated space to a group that isn’t collaborating with us.
More practically: if conflicts or negative experiences arise for a group that meets in our space, the shop runs the risk of damaged reputation. That’s something we can’t even attempt to fix if the GM isn’t working with us. -
We get that some GMs are used to “being their own boss”. Our model isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay.
First, our primary value of community building. We'd rather build community with our GMs and players, and collaboration is key. Our partner GMs receive a lot of convenience and value when we recruit players, do the scheduling and billing work, and handle conflicts and concerns.
Second, practicality. We have a full plate sharing the love with all the other table top games we sell, teach, and build community around. Our space is limited and valuable, and we like it that way.
Finally: financial considerations. We use our marketing apparatus and spend real money on GM's behalf to attract players. If you are an aspiring professional GM, we think you should value your time as highly as we do!
